Tomatoes, cucmbers, growing, oh my!

Hello everyone! Its been a while. Lots of rain and sun helping the plants grow. I have just 2 pictures to share. One of which is the tomato plant my sister gave me. This thing is growing like crazy! The plant is about 4 feet tall now! Has some flowers on it but they haven't bloomed yet. Hoping they will start to flower soon!

The other picture is of the cucumber plant. I got its "ladder" over the weekend with the assistance of my mom because I have no idea what I needed. Anyway, with 2 stakes in place and having some yarn weaving back and forth, its ready for its vines to start climbing. When this picture was taken (Sunday), it had 2 vines. Now 2 more are slowly starting to uncoil and are getting ready to start the climb.

I am getting very excited that everything is growing so well, with the exception of the habanero plant that I replanted to another part of the garden so it could get more sun. I just cant wait for everything to start flowering so I can get some food! :) Its a good feeling when you hear your son ask to eat some lettuce from the garden.

If anyone has any gardening tips they would like to share feel free to post them in comments. I am learning this as I go, trial and error. I am sure other gardeners would love to hear ideas as well that have worked for others in the past.

Happy gardening everyone!!!

  1. Your tomato plant is looking great. Do you plan on making a sauce or eating the tomatoes as they ripen?
